Description
The 1952 Okinawa Boots have their origins in the jungles of Southeast Asia. In the 1950s, the US Army developed shoes for a hot and humid climate. These were tested in Okinawa, Japan. This is why collectors call original shoes “Okinawa Boots”.
The boots are based on the US Army Buckle Boots of the 1940s. But instead of making them entirely out of leather, parts made of canvas were replaced to achieve better breathability. Like the historical model, these shoes are welted. To stay as close as possible to the historical original, we even produced the original, coarse-treaded jungle sole.
The following details characterize our 1952 Okinawa Boots:
– Lower part: cowhide, shaft: canvas made of 100% cotton/cowhide
– welted
– authentic coarse-tread “Jungle Sole”
– Made in Portugal
